Great hall ‘Giorgio Levi della Vida’
Rome (IT)
The presentation took place within the framework of the MAV2024 Conference, a retrospective of documentaries and visual materials in memory of the ethnomusicologist Diego Carpitella, organised every two years at La Sapienza University in Rome. The documentary ‘Legando. In silenzio con Angelo De Domincis’, tells the story of an old farmer’s relationship with his vegetable garden, with the mountain environment that surrounds him, with the rhythms of nature and his own ageing body; Angelo demonstrates an ancient tying technique, inherited from his father and grandfather, which is completely ecological and functional for plant growth. The presentation and screening session was co-ordinated by Antonello Ricci, anthropologist at La Sapienza University, with the participation of Gianfranco Spitilli, author of the documentary, preceded by the presentation of three videos from the Digital Itineraries project, realised by Bambun APS for the ICCD – Central Institute for Catalogue and Documentation, edited by Fabrizio Magnani, with the participation of Emanuele Di Paolo and Gianfranco Spitilli, authors of the films. The presentation took place in front of an audience of specialists, from the fields of social sciences, cinema, photography, documentary and cultural heritage, from many Italian regions.
