Product of human creativity, intangible cultural heritage of the mountains of Europe is a fertile ground to encourage any creative and multidisciplinary process of restitution and dissemination. The close contact maintained by the Tramontana Network partners with rural communities cannot get bogged down in a complacent and ordinary cultural restitution: it must lead to a dynamic horizon where new relationships – sometimes unexpected or risky – tie up with mountain spaces.

This participative process, which pushes various disciplinary fields to converge towards the artistic dimension, represents an important novelty which refers to some experiments practiced in the field of human and social sciences and is based on the innovative use of sound and video techniques.

In the past, artistic creation has been integrated into our project as an additional, somewhere incidental, means of expression and dissemination. With Tramontana Network III, we have tried to place artistic creation at the heart of the collective work process between partners, through the crossing of artistic approaches and techniques, and thanks to the establishment of the LAB Tramontana, a model of creative innovation which aimed to collect and stimulate joint realization of initiatives within the project.
