Orma Sodalitas Anthropologica, an association created in 2014, but operating as a network of associated researchers since 2004, deals with ethnological and historical-religious research, field documentation in several rural regions of Romania and in Romanian or Romanian speakers (Rudars and Boyashes) communities from Ukraine (Transcarpathia and Bukovina), Serbia (the Serbian Timok) and Hungary (Eastern regions). The researches of the members of Orma cover various ethnological/anthropological aspects (rural societies, oral traditions, storytelling and cultural traditions, folk calendar of feasts and rites, folk religiosity – magical practices and representations, demonology, folk piety, pilgrimages, folk cult of the Blessed Virgin, rural funerary culture, rites of passage, archaic experiences and ecstasy techniques, Romanian and European folklore e.a.) and comparative historical-religions facts (the science of religions, the religions of Classical and Late Antiquity, popular religiosity in the different epistemes)
