Ràdio País was created in Béarn in 1983 at the time of the birth of free radios. It is broadcast in Béarn, Bigorre and Gers. A single program is broadcast in Béarn and Bigorre while part of the programming is specific to Gers following a disconnection implemented at the end of 2013. The news and the technical aspects are provided by professionals, technicians and journalists holding a press card. Ràdio País is an association under the 1901 law run by volunteers and professionals and managed by a federation of associations, its name is “Federacion VIVRE AU PAYS Ràdio País”, created in April 1996. The federated associations to date are Ràdio País Bigòrra, Ràdio País Gèrs, Support Association of Ràdio País in Béarn and Eths Amics of Ràdio País in Comenge.
