SEMINA Tramontana2020-04-22T11:53:03+00:00

The educational model of the Tramontana project is essentially based on the idea that research and archived documentation can be used in many forms directed towards direct learning in different socio-economical contexts.

This body of knowledge, drawn from the vast intangible reservoir concealed by the different cultures and the different individuals with whom the project came into contact in rural Europe, can play a role in driving the evolution of individuals and, more broadly, of society: because there is a transmission of significant experiences, of knowledge; because there is a response to the communicational alienation that is sweeping through contemporary society, despite (and probably because of) the rise of mass communication instruments.

The results of our field researches, comparative and in-depth analyses, lead to the joint experimentation of a cooperative educational model, called SEMINA Tramontana, one that sought to answer some major questions: why did we choose to work in mountain areas and in rural areas? How can what we collect and develop in these territories be useful for the society to come? What do we mean by “transmission”?

In Tramontana III project, each partner also chose their palette of workshops which were developed in each chosen field and interacted with local associated partnerships (in particular, primary and secondary schools, municipalities, universities, etc.). This systematic dialogue has resulted in a very substantial body of cultural and heritage education opportunities. All of the more than 75 workshops and seminars scheduled were subject to photographic and audiovisual documentation, which also enabled effective dissemination of the project’s achievements.
