Educational project “I listen, I remember, I feel”

During the course of Tramontana Network project, Binaural/Nodar conceived the educational project “I listen, I remember, i feel” that was developed in 15 different schools and public libraries of Viseu Dão Lafões Region in centre Portugal. This project used the methodology “We are all memory” developed by Binaural Nodar that stimulates the awareness that memory is not necessarily something external to which one accesses, but part of the individual and collective ballast of every human being, irrespectively of their age, social condition and/or geographical origin.

Through the course of the sessions primary school children searched their own mental “archive” for recollections of their own (brief) past and of childhood memories transmitted by their relatives (parents, uncles, grandparents, etc.), recorded their own voices and read excerpts from regional literature connected with local heritage. In the end of each project, a sound piece was created and presented.
